Learner

The Learner role is for trainees - the people who complete AI simulation courses and receive scored feedback.

What can a Learner do?

  • Open My Learning from the sidebar to see all assigned courses
  • Browse the Course Catalog and self-enroll in published courses
  • Launch AI simulations and complete conversations
  • Resume courses from where you left off
  • Pass a Knowledge Check quiz to complete courses
  • Retake completed courses from the catalog
  • View debriefs with score breakdowns and recommendations
  • Track assignment statuses (assigned, in progress, completed)
  • View the Dashboard with personal metrics
  • Post and reply in the workspace Forum - ask a question, follow a thread, mark your own thread resolved

How to complete a training course

1. Access My Learning

  1. Log in to Aimee.ai
  2. Click My Training Portal on the dashboard, or click My Learning in the sidebar

2. Browse the Course Catalog (optional)

You can self-enroll in courses without waiting for a trainer:

  1. Click Course Catalog in the sidebar
  2. Browse published courses or use the search bar
  3. Click Enroll on any course
  4. The course appears in your Learner Portal assignments

3. Review your assignments

If you are new and no course has been assigned to you yet, My Learning and the Dashboard show a welcome message. Click Browse the Course Catalog to enroll in a course yourself, or wait for your trainer to assign one. A Your first course in 3 steps card on My Learning shows the steps to follow, until you launch your first course.

My Learning shows all courses assigned to you:

Column Description
Course Name of the training simulation
Status Current status (assigned, in progress, completed)
Due Date Deadline, if one was set by your trainer
Attempts How many times you've attempted this course
Score Your best score (once completed)

4. Launch a simulation

  1. Find an assignment with status Assigned or In Progress
  2. Click Launch (or Resume Course if you've started before)
  3. Work through the course's slides, roleplays, matching exercises, and acknowledgement blocks using the bottom navigation bar
  4. Use the chat panel to ask questions about the material
  5. When ready, click Complete Course to start the knowledge check

5. Knowledge Check

Before completing a course, you must pass a quiz:

  1. Click Complete Course - the chat panel opens
  2. The AI asks a short set of multiple-choice questions (typically three; the exact count is set by your trainer) based on the course material
  3. Answer each question by typing A, B, C, or D
  4. Get the pass mark that your trainer set to pass. The default is 70% correct
  5. If you pass, the course is completed and scored
  6. If not, you can review the material and retry

6. Review your debrief

After a session is scored:

  1. Navigate back to the Learner Portal
  2. Click on the completed assignment
  3. View your Debrief which includes:
    • Overall score and pass/fail status
    • Per-criterion breakdown (e.g., Empathy: 85%, De-escalation: 70%)
    • AI feedback - qualitative comments on your performance
    • Recommendations - actionable next steps to improve

Passed?

If your score meets or exceeds the pass threshold set by your trainer, the assignment is marked as completed. Congratulations!

Below threshold?

If you scored below the pass threshold, you may be able to retry the simulation (depending on the retry limit). Check the assignment details for remaining attempts.

Voice and dictation in the Android app

The Android app 1.1.0 and newer supports voice roleplay and dictation in the chat. Update an older app to use voice.

  • The app asks for permission to use the microphone the first time that you tap a voice control or the dictation button.
  • If you deny the permission, a note says that the microphone is off. Tap the control again to get the prompt again.
  • If you deny the permission more than once, Android stops the prompt. Tap "Open settings", allow the microphone for Aimee, and come back.
  • Text chat works with no microphone.
  • Voice stops when you leave the app or take a phone call. Your transcript stays.
  • Dictation uses the speech service of your phone. That service can send your audio to its maker. Aimee does not receive the audio.

Get new content in the Android app

The app gets new content each time that you come back to it. Your course list, the catalog and the workspace colours update with no action from you.

  • To refresh a page yourself, go to the top of the page and pull down. This needs the Android app 1.1.2 or newer.
  • The pull does not work during a voice roleplay or a dictation, so that you do not lose the session.
  • A course that is open does not change while you take it. Pull down at the top of the course to get the new slides. The course opens again at your position.
  • If the app was in the background for 30 minutes or longer, it loads the page again when you come back. An open course does not load again.

Read the brief carefully

The learner brief contains critical context about the course. Understanding the situation before launching leads to better performance.

Take it seriously

AI simulations evaluate how naturally and effectively you communicate. Treat them like real conversations, not a test to game.
